Bhumika had quite a lesser number of movies after she got married. Collector Gaari Bharya is one of those. The new director Tekula Prabhakar Reddy said that the movie has a women oriented subject. The promos show that this could be one of those clichéd tear jerkers. However, the prime cast is Prakash Raj and Bhumika, and it will be interesting to see how they did together!

What’s it about: Indu (Bhumika) is an MBA Gold Medalist and has big aims. However, her marriage to Goutham (Prakash Raj), an IAS topper, puts her career goals to an end. She becomes one of those thorough house wives, who take more pride in being a wife. She goes for one kid after another, obviously ‘forced’ by her husband. The otherwise strict and honest IAS officer, Goutham, has only one weakness – he wants only a male child, and looks down upon women! He moves up in career, while Indu’s life starts and ends in her home. Indu catches up with an old friend, who seems to have established a chain of companies. Inspired by her, Indu starts fighting for rights of women at home. What happens next and how does Goutham react to it form the rest of the story.

What is Good: Prakash Raj is an excellent actor. He brings a certain honesty to the movie, ditto like Bhumika. However, it is tough to see Bhumika as a mother of three! The idea to see that women need to find their own identity is appreciable. The movie also talks of how parents, who try to give their best for a girl child, do not seem to be careful of her life after marriage.

Actors like Thanikella Bharani, Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, M.S.Narayana, Brahmanandam, Babu Mohan all come in and out of useless scenes, but not without entertaining.

What is bad: The problem with the movie may not be completely in its idea, but the execution makes you think otherwise. Throughout the first half, we assume that the actual problem is Goutham putting his wife through hell for a male child. Then there are small scenes about brokers at various government offices. There are so many of such scenes one starts wondering that they will have some importance later on. However, all these scenes go useless in the end. And when the story takes a new direction towards the end, things become too easy for the central character. Hence the central character cannot be shown as a true hero! Also if there are any best scenes in this movie, they are all towards the end!

Technical Departments: : Dialogues in the first half are clichéd, though they gather some energy later on. Songs aren’t worth the while. There is nothing much the cinematographer could do. The Re-recording reminds us of a TV serial. It is only the actors who make the movie watchable. The director should work on establishing his major problem correctly and then give an acceptable solution. Collector Gaari Bharya suffers from these two highly.

Final Point: This movie is not a must-watch for everyone, but it makes an attempt to reach the female audiences.
